Eamon Quinn was born approximately in 1965, his mother being named Katherine. In the mid-eighties he trained at a terrorist camp sponsored by Muammar Gaddafi in Libya, where he met Gabriel Allon's future nemesis, Tariq Al-Hourani, afterward joining the Provisional IRA and becoming one of its most feared bombmakers and operations planners, continuing on into the Real IRA after the Good Friday Peace Agreement, with whom he was responsible for the Omagh bombing, which angered his superiors of the Real IRA so much because the loss of life was so great, they exiled him from the organization. Afterward, Quinn went off the grid, working as a freelance bombmaker for Iranian intelligence, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Quinn was a common sociopath, having no remorse or conscience for all the people he killed, innocent or otherwise, murdering in the most callous ways he could utilize, truly a cold-blooded monster, being highly arrogant, even when confronted with the entirety of the SVR and the combined prowess of Gabriel Allon and the Office on his heels, was always convinced of his own invulnerability to being caught or killed by both intelligence services, also liking to taunt and mock his enemies in his own dark sense of humor by subtly informing them of bombings to come. He was also highly intelligent, being able to outwit and outmaneuver even Gabriel himself across a continent as wide as Europe. As well, he was sophisticated and cultured, having a love for jazz and classical literature. But in spite of all these traits, he was capable of love, as he had had a family consisting of a wife, Maggie Donahue and a daughter, Katherine, whom he loved very much and allegedly wanted to get to know her better.
In The English Spy, Quinn murdered the famous woman and everyone else on a luxury yacht. This brought him to the attention of Graham Seymour of MI6 and later of Gabriel Allon, Christopher Keller and Gabriel Allon's Team.
